I first encountered Emily in 2015 - back then I had never left my 8-month old with anyone other than close family and friends, and my anxiety was compounded by the fact that we were in a completely different country too. However, as soon as she walked through the door with a warm smile and cuddle for my son, I knew she was going to give excellent care and attention to my toddler.  Fast forward four years (and 1 more child to add to the mix) and I am familiar with the whole Sun and Snow team! I can happily report that Emily, Val, Jamie and Roxanne are a dream team - all totally professional and with the relevant expertise in child care, but also with a natural kindness and patience that the kids are immediately at ease with. They also manage to inject fun and games alongside all of the necessary 'routine' bits of the day. This winter, we relied on all of the ladies (we had other friends with kids staying with us) to help us out at the chalet with the children and also to bring the kids up to the mountain for lessons/lunches, etc. They took everything in their stride - from packing the various layers of clothing to organising snacks and planning the rest of the activities around the day. They also kept us fully informed and took pictures of their day so that we could keep in touch with what they had experienced. Sun and Snow Childcare come with my highest recommendation.

Both Emily and Valerie are fantastic nannies.  We used Emily one year for our three children who at the time were 4, 6 and 7 (boy, girl, boy).  The children loved Emily!  She is extremely easy to get on with and nothing phases her.  She bought along games that were appropriate for the children and they really enjoyed playing with her.  She was very flexible with fitting in with our needs and she really made our holiday relaxing which is not always the case on a ski holiday.  The following year, as Emily was unavailable, we used Valerie who nannied our three children (now aged 5, 7 and 8) and also my sister’s three children staying in a nearby apartment (aged 1, 3 and 5 - all boys).  No mean feat!  Valerie was extremely flexible fitting in with both the families, something I’m not sure everyone could cope with, and was very accommodating.  Once again, the children loved Val who was very patient with the children and came equipped with ideas and games to keep the children entertained when they were not skiing.   Both Emily and Valerie know the area well and if you are happy, will take the children on trips out. I’m delighted for them both that they are setting up a business together.  Both Emily and Valerie are great nannies and lovely people and I wish them every success.  If we are back in the area, we will certainly call on them again.

It is the first time we have left B with anyone other than family and Jaimee did a great job. He was quickly settled and very happy in her company, sleeping and eating well and having a great time in the snow!! Jaimee’s flexibility was great throughout the week to meet and change arrangements as suited the little one. Jaimee is a great asset to the team – and a big thank you from us!

Valerie hit it off immediately with our girls (aged 2 and 4). She was engaging, friendly, enthusiastic and kept them entertained throughout both trips in which she took care of our girls for a week each time. She very obviously loves spending time with kids, has great experience and really understands them, and the little ones respond with affection and energy. They were always up to something - be it doing arts and craft making Christmas decorations or easter eggs, drawings and mosaics, taking them to various experiences in Samoens: train rides, market days, local bus rides to the playgrounds, or reading stories while getting them ready for their afternoon naps or some quiet time. Valerie also allowed us to enjoy as much of ski time as possible by coming up to the top of the hill to pick up our eldest daughter, and using that as a good time to take them sledding or playing in the snow. As someone with excellent local knowledge she also helped us out with ideas for which runs/areas were best to allow us to ski together as a family, nice places/shops/cafe's/hilltop restaurants to go to, and generally lots of helpful tips to make the time as enjoyable as possible.

Emily instantly made us feel comfortable and relaxed leaving our four month old son in her care. She was positive, punctual and fun and we didn't hesitate to ask Emily to care for our son on our return to Samoens the following year. He was happy to stay with Emily whilst we skied and seemed to enjoy his time with her.

Emily looked after our children regularly over the 2016 ski season and was excellent. She loves the outdoors & so always took the kids outside to play and did plenty of creative play such as pictures using leaves picked on their walks. We always felt our children were in safe, fun and trustworthy hands. The children loved Emily too and are looking forward to seeing her again this season!

Kate, thank you so much for looking after L this week, we are so grateful for your kind and fun approach with him. It made our holiday even more fantastic having a few hours to ski with the girls, knowing L was in your safe hands.

I really hope the rest of your time in Samoens goes well and you love it as much as we do!

Valerie looked after the kids from two families- five in total- last February half term during a weeks ski trip. She really was fantastic with the kids and nothing seemed to phase her at all! She was organised, professional and excellent with all the kids aged 5-10 years old. She played lots of games and kept them fully entertained. She took all 5 to and from ski lessons, equipped with picnic and snacks. She was truly wonderful and made the whole holiday a stress free, enjoyable holiday enjoyed by all. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. Thanks a million!

Emily was excellent, she was punctual, smiling, was very confident in dealing with two active toddlers and planned several activities a day for the boys. My sister and I both agreed that Emily was the best Alps based nanny we have had. 

R. told us yesterday that the favourite part of the holiday was his time with Emily so you can’t really beat that for feedback!​

Val was our ski nanny last year for a week in February with our 10 month old son.  We had never left our baby with anyone else before as I was still on maternity leave, so we were a little nervous about long days away from him. Before our arrival we exchanged emails on his likes/dislikes and routines and I felt reassured that Val knew what she was doing. In the event, she was everything we could have wished: punctual, friendly, helpful, communicative and full of good ideas to keep an active baby entertained both indoors and outside. The pictures she sent us of his first sled ride and snowballs were priceless! Moreover, we found her to be very professional and practical in her care. She kept us well informed on his eating and sleeping routines and when he developed a mild fever she did all the right things communicating with us, administering paracetamol and helping him to enjoy a cooling lukewarm bath until we were home. The fever came down and he was happily crawling around the chalet again before long! Her long experience as a childcare professional really stood out and we were very glad to have had her. We felt totally relaxed on the slopes knowing that our little boy was in good hands. We would re-employ her anytime.

It was the first time I had left V. apart from with my parents for a few hours and I needn't have worried at all! Emily did a fantastic job and we were really happy with her .

Valerie - I just wanted to say thank you again for being so wonderful with the boys ! You were a hit. L was missing you the following day! It was great to know the boys were in such good care with you and having fun. Thank you too for being so understanding regarding our lack of plans each day ! If we come back next year we would love to use you again.

Emily watched our 2-year-old daughter all day for three days, and my 4-year-old son in the afternoons. She arrived promptly, with a smile, and a little bag of fun each day. She took the children outside to play in the fresh snow and they quickly warmed to her. We'd absolutely recommend her!

Really pleased with the service provided by Valerie. Felt very comfortable leaving my toddler in her capable hands. Nothing was too much trouble and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time with Valerie. Would be happy to recommend.

Our children (once again) had a great time with Emily and we too had a brilliant holiday. Emily is fantastic with children, nothing is too much and she is so flexible. Would thoroughly recommend! Thanks Emily :-)

Emily looked after our children during a recent trip to Samoens. She is professional, kind and fun. The children were instantly relaxed in her company and she quickly understood their preferences. As soon as I met Valerie I knew I would be happy leaving my baby (11 months) and 6 year old with her. I could go off skiing for a couple of hours not having to worry about the girls at all - I knew they would be having a great time and not even notice I had gone. Valerie took amazing care of my three children. She arrived every day with a bag full of toys to keep them entertained whether on the slopes or in the apartment. Valerie was especially brilliant with my 6 year old who has downs syndrome, as well as sensory issues. He struggles with new situations and new people, but bonded amazingly well with Valerie and was delighted to see her each day. Valerie was proactive, professional and flexible, absolutely everything you could want in a childcare professional, cannot recommend them highly enough. We will definitely book with sun and snow again next year. The peace of mind and freedom to enjoy our ski holiday was invaluable.
